Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

U.L. Down Inner Parka W's

We love this company because it is not satisfied to come out with a state of the art product, but continues to improve it. Mont-bell first came out with the liner jacket a few years ago, and it quickly became a favorite for backpackers. We no longer needed to bring a fleece, and the temperature range of feeling warm putting this on after a tiring day seemed to be from 40 to 70 degrees.

The description on their web page says it all, but we have to add a few reasons why this is so wonderful. At our age, we usually have to get up in the middle of the night. This jacket makes a great pillow, we know where it is, put it on, go outside, come back into the tent, stuff it into the pillow case and are ready to go back to sleep. The one we just tested has improved on the original. It now has hand warmer pockets, a hood, and a zipper instead of Velcro closures. All this and it only weighs 7.7 oz! The stuff sack is included.

As we wear it, we find it is also great on the golf course, for travel where packing weight is an issue, or just to put on when the house feels cool on a winter day. They come in women and men specific and always bring a smile when we put it on.

Rain Trekker Jacket W's

This is a wonderful all purpose jacket. Our tester took this and the inner jacket to Denmark for six weeks and that is all she needed or all kinds of weather. Not only does it have fully taped seams, two zippered hand pockets, 1 zippered interior security pocket, a 2-way adjustable hood and elasticized adjustable cuffs, 16 inch pit zips, but they are so innovative, the draw cords for waist adjustment are hidden in the pockets!

Our reviewer loves all outdoor sports, but also likes to look stylish. With the two toned colors, coming in at the waist and the longer length, it is extremely flattering for those of us who don't have the perfect body. Even though they say this is only water resistant, we were dry in the rain, loved that it was breathabl3e, and appreciated the hood. They have even included a stuff sack for travel. All this and it is only 10.9 oz.

ULTRALIGHT SUPER STRETCH HUGGER #2

It is very difficult for me to get comfortable enough as it is in my own bed – get me out on the trail in a backpacking sleeping bag and sometimes I rarely get a good nights sleep.

The Mont-Bell ultralight super stretch hugger #2 utilizes MontBell's world patented Super Stretchâ„¢ System provides a night's sleep unlike any other. Durable elastic stitching in the baffles of the sleeping bag provide unmatched freedom of movement while simultaneously drawing the insulation closer to your body minimizing dead space to be heated throughout the night.

The down stays dispersed with its Multi-Box Construction: engineered to maximize the warmth of the insulating material. Partitions have been created inside each baffle to more effectively distribute the down and limit migration.

With a neck adjuster, neck baffle, and tubing around the zipper to keep a draft out, I slept comfortably in 30 degree nights

I was able to move freely while still staying warm and draftless
