Darn Tough Vermont socks

Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

Over 30 years ago their family opened a mill and began making socks in Northfield, Vermont and are still family owned and run, in Vermont. In a word, local.

They set out to make socks that whether skiing, hiking, biking, climbing or running, Darn Tough Vermont socks would keep feet oblivious to the elements.

It's a brand uniquely created around a single, fine gauge needle, which means all their socks, from our Mesh running sock, to the over-the-calf Full Cushion ski sock is crafted with the same high quality raw material and high density knitting techniques that make their product unique.

Its custom counts of Merino wool and an exclusive blend of Coolmax® makes the socks incredibly strong and comfortable. And it's all about the knitting. Three generations of knitting know-how means, well, we know how.

Run/Bike No Show Cushion Merino Wool

This sock has a high density cushion around the heel and toe of the foot making it a great sock to absorb the blows of whatever the trail may throw your way. I found it especially comfortable on a long road run where my feet usually feel the pain of the hard concrete.

The elastic that reinforces the arch seems to give more arch support as well.

When you are out for a long run, every little stitch or seam gets accentuated so that it can feel like they were held together with twine. Thanks to the seamless toe box you don't have to work about these pressure spots and irritations.

Since my feet were comfortable it felt as if there was less impact on my knees and hips as well and I could simply enjoy my run!

Hike/Trek Micro Crew Merion Wool

Made with a high-density cushion footbed this sock comforts your foot for long days on the trail.

Made with 29% Nylon, and 4% Lycra Spandex these socks are easy to get on and off and thanks to the 67% custom shrink treated Merino wool they are naturally microbial!

They also feature a seamless toe making them even more comfortable with leaving no hopspots!
