Review: Body Glove Clothing
for watersports & energy gel

Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

We are always curious how product come to be discovered. One more question was answered as we read about Body Glove. In 1953, twin brothers Bill and Bob Meistrell co-founded Body Glove when they designed the first practical wetsuit. 60 Years later Body Glove is one of very few family owned surf/dive brands in the world. Bob and Bill needed to find a way to combat California’s coldwater. They tried everything from wartime electrically heated flyers’ suits to wool sweaters that lasted only as long as they were dry. Finally in 1953, they discovered an insulating material used in the back of refrigerators, Neoprene.

We were impressed by this history of innovation and love of the ocean that challenges Body Glove to make products fitting every waterman’s needs inside and out! Body Glove is proud to be one of the last family owned dive / surf businesses and pledges to continually build products that enhance and protect us both above and below the waters’ surface.

Surge Energy Gel

When we first were exposed to Body Glove SURGE™ we were surprised it was produced by Body Glove, known for their wet suits, but then we realized that this really is a perfect fit. They are surrounded by active people who play hard and know what it is like to try and keep their energy up. This product is an energy gel that delivers rapid and sustained energy and is incredibly easy to use whether you’re on a surfboard, skateboard or snowboard. It’s sleek, portable and easy to fit in your wetsuit, shorts or in your helmet.

Created by a leading sports scientist in partnership with the company synonymous with active sports, the secret of Body Glove SURGE™ is a patent-pending combination of natural ingredients. We have tried many different gels, and theses not only taste great but have a wonderful texture. They are available in Double Espresso and Chocolate flavors.
