When people become involved in hiking, whether it is short or long distances, it is so much more fun when you are hiking to a destination. Peter J. Barr has written a book to allow us the opportunity to hike to lookout towers in North Carolina.
The book is a great guide for any level of hiker. Not only does it give difficulty and length of the trail, but also history of the tower and the surrounding areas. Just reading the book is a fun history lesson in an area most people are not familiar with. I especially appreciated that the book tells what to expect to see from the top of the tower.
