Fifty Sense Seal of Approval

The Gentle Art of Wandering When we started reading this book, we thought, oh my goodness, we could be writing this! Finally someone understands that it is great to walk slowly and really see what is around us. We love his philosophy that “you will always find something when you wander,” understanding the ”combination of idea, context, and action is about giving you enough reason, background information and structure to get out.”

We endorse this book by giving people the tools to actively see what is right in front of them. Once you embrace the fact that each and every time you go out, it will be an adventure. Sometimes it is as small as enjoying a spider web, or as big as finding dinosaurs! This is something that can be done by your home in a hour, or long distance hiking. When we think about some of our best experiences, they started out as an ordinary day that brought extraordinary results.

We especially like how David talks about wandering in the city. The older we get, the more important it is to have a purpose to get outdoors. We definitely need to exercise and if we have that purpose, we can look forward to each day as an adventure. David’s guidebook helps us improve our skills that everyone has but doesn’t always recognize.
