Fifty Sense: Common Sense Ideas for Thriving after 50

Apparel: Clothing

When preparing for your travel adventure, and sports activities, clothing is an essential factor. Your travels may take you to diverse locations and experiences. It is important to bring clothing that is practical for your needs. Look for clothing that can be used for more than one purpose.

Look for fabrics that 'wik' the moisture away from your body to keep you both dry and cool. Avoid 100 percent cotton as these fabrics do not dry quickly. Instead, look for blended materials, such as spandex, lycra, rayon or polyester. Microfiber materials are definitely something to consider as they are comfortable, lightweight, stain resistant, usually wrinkle free and can be layered for comfort without being bulky.

There are many such pieces out there that can be dressed up for an evening, or dressed down for more demanding activities. Think about packing only items that can be hand washed and dried. Leave big, bulky, heavy items at home.
